We Miss You Guys!

Connecting VIRTUALLY:
These certainly are strange times! With our lives flipped upside down, we are all having to find new creative ways to learn, work, connect, and pass the time... and with youth ministry it is no different!

We would like to offer you, the high school teens of our youth group, an opportunity to connect with one another and explore your faith in a series of virtual gatherings. Here's the plan:

A note about safety:

All zoom video calls will have a minimum of two [trained and fingerprinted] Child Protection Compliant adults signed in at all times. The Zoom platform has a number of features meant to protect uninvited or malicious users from ruining a call experience. We will be using the following protocol on all video chats:
  • a Waiting Room feature that allows us to manually approve each member who joins the call
  • disabling the ability for users other than the host to share their screen
  • disabling the ability for users to privately chat with one another during the call
  • enabling our ability to mute, put on hold, or boot a user if necessary (without allowing their ability to undo the action)
  • we will not be sharing the link to our zoom call on social media or our website, and we ask that our teens do not post it or share it with friends outside our youth group community
In the rare case that some disciplinary action during our calls is needed (i.e. someone is being disruptive, disrespectful, etc.) we will follow these steps as needed: 1. Mute the user and warn them to amend their behavior. 2. Put the user "on hold" which temporarily boots them from the meeting until we click to allow them back in. 3. Boot the user entirely, which will not allow the user to reenter the meeting at any time. In the case of inappropriate or egregious behavior we will simply skip straight to step 3.
